A Pediatric Physical Therapist is trained to evaluate child’s strengths and limitations in how they move through their world. Are they able to run, jump, and skip? Are they able to maintain their balance during everyday activities or during fun play activities with their friends? Are they able to walk up and down the hallways and stairs in the homes and schools? Are they coordinated and strong enough to participate in everyday activities and play? Our PT staff is not just concerned with the quantity of movement your child has but what is their quality of movement? Are they able to function to their fullest potential? These are all important questions our PT staff is asking when evaluating your child. Our trained staff can specifically evaluate your child’s gross motor strength and coordination and the impact their limitations may be having in their day to day lives. Our goal is to turn those limitations into strengths and to build on each child’s unique abilities. We understand that each child is an individual and has individual needs and goals. It’s our job to help your child be successful in reaching their goals.
Our treatment uses developmental and age appropriate play to address a child’s needs and to improve their abilities within their everyday environment. We challenge the children in ways that are motivating and fun for the child while still addressing their specific needs. Some of the treatment methods we use include:
