Helping Hand

Helping Hand has been providing occupational, physical and speech therapy to children since 1990. We began as a small outpatient therapy clinic called Total Pediatric Therapy. In 1998 the decision was made to build a new facility that would house both a preschool and therapy clinic. Situated on eight acres in the North Shore Business Park in North Little Rock, next door to Crystal Hill Elementary School, the new 20,000 square foot center was opened on August 23, 1999. The name Total Pediatric Therapy was changed to Helping Hand to better reflect the addition of the new educational component.

From dedicated teachers, teacher assistants and administrative staff to professionals in the fields of Early Childhood Education, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy, to the medical staff that includes a Developmental Pediatrician, Psychological Examiner, Dietician, Social Worker, RN and LPN, the entire staff put the child’s development as their top priority.

An individualized treatment plan developed by the multidisciplinary team is carried out in the classroom setting or provided one on one in a variety of therapy rooms. A sensory integration gym allows the children to move in a large space and work on coordination skills. The 18,850 square foot wheel chair accessible playground and computers are also incorporated into the preschool day.

Helping Hand is owned and operated by Johnny and Julia Washburn and is located at 4901 North Shore Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72118. The center is opened from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
